Hear some Houston Urban Leaguer stories...

The #MyUrbanLeagueStory campaign brings to life the countless stories of Urban League volunteers, community partners, employees, and clients who have been impacted by the Urban League movement.

Since 1968, the Houston Area Urban League (HAUL) has served as an economic engine, driving growth in Houston’s most underserved communities. Collectively, with the National Urban League’s other 87 affiliates, HAUL has worked to impact and improve the lives of more than 2 million people nationwide.

Share your story...

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are sharing stories from people who have received aid from HAUL, devoted their lives to helping others through HAUL’s platform, or who have done both.

We invite you to share your own Urban League story by uploading a 1-minute selfie video, highlighting your experience with the Urban League (or any of its affiliates), to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MyUrbanLeagueStory. We are asking that you donate a minimum of $5 to participate in the campaign. We will be highlighting some of the submissions on here, our social media pages and even during our 50th anniversary Equal Opportunity Day Gala on June 16, 2018.

Your generous donation will help us continue to empower communities and change lives.
